Pertrus Bellonius et Gyllius Boli hodie dici scribunt; Arcane Theveto dicitur; in orâ maris Euxini inter Teuthraniam ad occident. et Sinopen ad ortum. Lucianus in Pseudemante refert, quendam Alexandrum impostorem petiisse a principe Romano, ut commutatô vocabulô, lonopolis vocaretur. Stephano est πόλις μικρα iuxta Euxinum Pontum, cuius populi dicuntut Abonotitheitae. ´ἀβώνου τεῖχος etiam Ptolemaeo, Asiae Tab. 1 c. 6.
